TechnoVerse is a newsletter and blog dedicated to the field of Computer Science, created by my friend Arshnoor and I to encourage students to explore and possibly pursue Computer Science by creating a platform where tech enthusiasts can share their opinions and be introduced to various aspects in the field of technology, such as latest developments, recommended courses, news articles, etc. Our website can be found at: https://www.technoverse.co.in/, and our instagram handle is @technoverse.official
C.O.D.E. is the Computer Science club of our school. It was founded in 2020 by a then-senior, when I was a sophomore. In 2021, I was chosen to be the Club Secretary, or the head, of the club. My responsibilities included handling the sessions, managing the club, giving presentations, and co-ordinating who would teach what, both online and offline. Sessions ranged from coding in languages such as Python and JavaScript to video editing using Filmora to 3D rendering using Blender to discussions on topics such as Artificial Intelligence. Currently, in 2022, I am still the Club Secretary, until it is rotated to someone else.
The Cryptic is an annual inter-school tech-based quiz, that covers topics such as Computer Science, Maths, and Logic, and tests the skills that are necessary in the modern digital age. I, along with three other high school students, organised and hosted the first virtual edition of the quiz, the Cryptic 2.0, in 2021. This included creating the questions, the format and the style of the quiz, using software such as multibuzz and kumospace. The competition did great and was praised by teachers and students alike.
The legacy of the Cryptic continued offline in 2022, where I organised it with two other high school students. The topics remained the same - Computer Science, Maths, and Logic. Since it was offline, the workings were very different and we had to figure out how to run a competition like this on stage. This included rounds such as Pictionary and Jeopardy. I also presented a major part of the quiz in front of the audience. The quiz was a huge success as audience members joined in on the fun along with the participants.
Along with one other high school student, I organised the Digital Citizenship Week 5 Series Competition in 2020, to inculcate the values of being a good and responsible citizen over the Internet. We had to arrange 5 different competitions throughout the week, including slogan writing, music composing, short film making, audio-visual making and digital poster making, on topics covering appearance versus reality over social media, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, etc. We also arranged a speaker session by Cybersecurity Professor Dr. Ravi Sen from Texas A&M University.
